He Is Risen!

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?  But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away." Mark 16:1-4

Do you ever start a day with a feeling of despair, and go through the emotions with no hope in sight?  You can understand what Mary and Salome were going through on early Sunday morning.  Their lives were about to change.

As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.  "Don't be alarmed," he said.  "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.  He has risen!  He is not here.  See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee.  There you will see him, just as he told you."  Mark 16:5-7

He has risen!  He is not here.  These words altered the course of history.  Jesus conquered death.  He died on the cross to save us from our sins.  A supreme act of love by our Savior.  Given freely so we may have eternal life.  All we have to do is believe he is the risen Lord and accept him.  As you reflect on the miracle of Easter, may it change your life.

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?"  John 11:25,26
